After photographing hundreds of weddings throughout Hawaii over the past decade, we’ve learned that the best photos come when couples are able to relax and truly enjoy the experience. Our goal is to make the photography process feel effortless while creating images that feel timeless, natural, and true to your day.
We’re Alison and JJ, the husband and wife team behind Palms & Lace Photo. We divide our time between Utah and Hawaii and have photographed weddings across Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.
Over the years we’ve been fortunate to work at many of Hawaii’s most beautiful venues including Kualoa Ranch, Loulu Palms, Sunset Ranch, Waimea Valley, Haiku Gardens, Olowalu Plantation and private oceanfront estates. Knowing these locations well allows us to anticipate lighting, weather patterns, and timing so your day flows smoothly.
Our style blends editorial direction with documentary storytelling, capturing the real moments while also guiding you when needed so you look your best in Hawaii’s incredible scenery.

We love shooting film! We love the way it makes us slow down and really think about each frame with intention. We shoot a mix of 35mm and 120mm film using a variety of different cameras. We edit our digital files to match our film photos so that your gallery has a clean, uniform look. Film packages definitely work better with 2 photographer packages, where one photographer focuses on digital, and the other on film.
All wedding video packages include a separate team member dedicated solely to video coverage.
